University Advancement is dedicated to increasing awareness and support for Texas State University through media relations, storytelling, internal and external communications, digital engagement, alumni relations, and fundraising.

The Communications Office within University Advancement (UA-Communication) provides the following services:

MEDIA:

  • Media Relations: Media inquiries, pitches and press releases - View top media coverage
  • National Public Relations Campaign: Collaborate with a public relations firm to increase visibility of research and faculty expertise 
  • Newswise: Tool to distribute university press releases and pitch faculty experts to journalists - Visit Newswise 
  • On-Campus Filming Requests
     

STORYTELLING:

  • TXST Newsroom: Stories of the university‚Äôs latest innovations, impactful programs and student, faculty and staff achievements 
  • Hillviews: Alumni and donor magazine in print and online versions, 3 issues per year
     

INTERNAL COMMUNICATION:

  • TXST Connections: Newsletter emailed bi-monthly to students, faculty and staff, including Community Conversations with messages from university thought leaders
  • Stay Informed Bobcats: Top ways to stay informed about university news and events
  • Campus Communicators: Group of staff and faculty that collaborate with UA-Comm to share news and achievements
     

DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT:

SUPPORT FUNDRAISING & DEVELOPMENT:

  • Digital engagement with philanthropic partners via email and social media
  • Big Ideas: Share stories and interviews about related research and faculty experts
  • Step Up for State: Support the annual online giving campaign
