Live Oak Hall
Film & Television Equipment

A state-of-the-art facility that will serve students and faculty of the College of Fine Arts and Communication. Expected to be operational by fall 2022.

Responding to Student and Industry Demand

The building is a response to the growing film program in the Department of Theatre and Dance. Theatre enrollment has increased 53% over the previous five years, and the new facilities will allow Texas State to meet the growing demand for the film concentration.

A Place to Grow New Ideas

The new TXST Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) was established to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration in the pursuit & development of new ideas.

STAR Park Infrastructure Research Laboratory

Funding will support construction of a state-of-the-art research lab that will provide structural testing for concrete beams, materials and other technologies.

Connected Infrastructure for Education, and Demonstration of Applied Research (CIEDAR)

CIEDAR is a new research strategy for Texas State.
The facilities being built under CIEDAR at STAR Park will all have embedded smart technology, including smart floors and smart walls.

CIEDAR is our newest research collaboration at Star Park. CIEDAR also serves as the transdisciplinary study of technologies with application to infrastructure. 

A second building will be added to the facility which serves as a technology incubator/accelerator for start-up and early-stage businesses involved in campus research.
