Each year, Texas State University asks its faculty and staff to participate in an annual fund drive. This year we are asking the university family, which includes current faculty and staff along with retired faculty and staff, to participate in the Family Campaign phase of the Pride in Action Campaign.

The Family Campaign is a critical component of the Pride in Action Campaign and you are extremely important to its success. When you participate, you show how proud you are to be part of the Texas State family. Your participation also shows others, such as foundations and corporations, that you believe in our university and our students. Our employee giving participations rate is important to funding organizations. For them to feel confident in supporting us, we must prove that we are confident in ourselves.

You may think that you cannot afford to make a contribution large enough to make a difference. But remember that the amount you give will be combined with other gifts and it will all add up. Your participation is what matters most.

The primary role of the University is to educate students and we do this very well. Students are the reason we are here and without them, there would be no Texas State University. That is why we are asking everyone to consider making a gift that benefits students. Scholarships, graduate fellowships, emergency grants, student travel, tuition assistance, and student organizations are a few examples of how we support students.

Gifts to the Family Campaign can be made through payroll deduction, cash, credit cards or estate gifts. (Example: When you give $600, you can choose to pay that gift in installments for up to the next five years. That means your $600 commitment to Texas State could be paid with just $10 deducted from your monthly paycheck.)

Your participation in the Family Campaign is important to the University. Please consider making a gift today which will benefit all of us – now and in the future.

A charitable contribution is a donation or gift to, or for the use of, a qualified organization. It is voluntary and is made without getting, or expecting to get, anything of equal value.

All gifts made to Texas State programs must adhere to UPPS 03.01.02, section 02.02, which states:

The account manager may spend these funds for purposes consistent with the unit’s mission and which further the educational or business purpose of the unit.
