Message From the President

President Trauth

Challenge is nothing new to Texas State University. The campus was conceived by the challenge that faced the public schools of Texas in the late 19th century: the need for trained, certified teachers. We still meet this challenge, and in the 112 years since our founding, we have met countless others.

Our challenge today is to do the very best job we can with the resources we have. We do that well, and with your help, we can do it even better.

We have identified five immediate challenges and have launched the Pride in Action campaign to help meet them. This website introduces you to these five “pillars” – Academic Excellence, Athletics, the Performing Arts Center, the Library, and Alumni.

All of the pillars invite you to donate whatever you can. Various pages on this site show you how to do that. The fifth pillar focuses on participation. It is designed to entice alumni and others to visit campus. If you’re an alumnus, how long has it been since you came back to campus? If you have never visited, now is the time. Come to a game, a concert or play, a reunion, a tour. I promise that you will be impressed.

We need your help to make this campaign a success. Help us show our Pride in Action.
