Lighting the Way

Texas State students initiated the Lighting the Way campaign in 2008 to raise money to replace the victory star on top of Jackson Hall.

The new Victory Star will be bigger and better, and will shine for miles each time there is a Texas State athletic victory, academic victory, or special Bobcat celebration. The new star will serve as  a constant reminder of Bobcat pride, dedication and accomplishment.  Won't you join us in this worthy endeavor?

Over $17,000 has already been raised and the new star is currently being built by students in the Ingram School of Engineering.  However, more support is needed to pay for the cost of the new star’s installation.

Below is a picture of Robert Fischer posing with the new star.  Robert and his classmates, Wes Poirier, Lindsey Whitworth, and Nick Worley, built the new star’s structure in Dr. Asiabanpour’s Concurrent Engineering class in the fall 2011 semester.  Electrical Engineering students will complete the stars LED lighting system in the spring 2012 semester.
