The fall issue of Hillviews looks at the College of Applied Arts. Programs here range from pre-veterinarian studies in agriculture to preparation for leadership in military sciences. Students gain skills and training that transform each of them to become part of the global community. Each program and department has evolved over the years to meet the world’s changing needs. Inside there are stories about those who serve, such as the university volunteers. This issue also checks in with Bobcat alumni like Rose Berglund, Teacher of the Year in San Marcos; and Arnold Baker, a New Orleans businessman who helped to rebuild the city after Katrina. Hillviews also remembers when President Johnson returned to campus in 1965 to sign the Higher Education Act, which made college a reality for many more Americans.
