President’s Associates members are generous supporters of Texas State University-San Marcos who annually contribute gifts of $1,000 or more. These gifts allow the president to make critical funding decisions in a quick and decisive manner as special needs and opportunities arise.
Annual Membership Levels
Old Main Associates ($15,000 and above)
Named in honor of the university’s first building, which is still a campus landmark today
1903 Associates ($5,000–$14,999)
Named in honor of the year classes began at the university, then called Southwest Texas State Normal School
1899 Associates ($2,500–$4,999)
Named in recognition of the year the Texas Legislature authorized the school’s creation
Chautauqua Hill Associates ($1,000–$2,499)
Named to commemorate Chautauqua Hill, part of the original 11 acres of land donated by the citizens of San Marcos to found the school
